Edward Bloor is the Author of Tangerine, along with several other books. Part of Bloor's inspiration to write Tangerine is when he went to Florida for a job. As he drove on the roads, he saw that gradually, all of the citrus groves were getting dug up. This inspired him to write in Tangerine about how the citrus plants shouldn't be dug up and to leave nature alone. While reading about the citrus groves in Tangerine, I thought about what Edward Bloor had said and this helped me connect to both Bloor and the book.
Connection #2-
Bloor played soccer as a child, which inspired him to write about sports. Bloor continued to play soccer through high school and college also. The experience of soccer made Edward Bloor want the main character of Tangerine to play soccer as a hobby during school.
